Tallapoosa County Municipal Court Warrants
Alexander City, Dadeville, Tallassee, Camp Hill, and other incorporated towns may operate municipal courts for city ordinance, traffic, misdemeanor, and failure-to-appear matters. Their judges or magistrates issue city warrants. Alabama Form C-65a uses “alias warrant of arrest for failure of defendant to appear,” while local pages usually say FTA warrant or arrest warrant.
A city file does not become a Circuit Clerk record merely because the city lies in Tallapoosa County. The issuing municipal court controls its case and recall order. City police may hold service information. The sheriff can help with service or custody, but a blank county response does not prove no municipal warrant exists.
Alexander City Warrant Channels
Alexander City Municipal Court and police share the Municipal Complex at 281 James D. Nabors Drive. The city says that after active-warrant paperwork reaches police, the clerk is not authorized to give active-warrant details and a person should appear at police to speak with an officer. Its FAQ also sends warrant questions to the clerk at (256) 329-6750. Call first and follow the current instruction.
The citation portal searches by citation number, but it is not a full warrant roster. Police uses (256) 329-6700. Ordinary payment options do not by themselves prove that an FTA warrant was recalled.
Tallapoosa County Cities With Municipal Courts
The verified city courts differ in schedules, contacts, and public tools. Camp Hill is confirmed by the FY2024 AOC report, but a current local counter was not found. New Site public court details were also not located, so confirm them locally.
The AOC annual report lists 823 Camp Hill Municipal Court cases for FY2024. That figure shows an active city-court layer, but it is not a warrant total and should not be used to estimate how many FTA orders exist. For Camp Hill, identify the citation agency, ask the town or police department for the current clerk or magistrate contact, and call before traveling. The county clerk and sheriff remain fallbacks for county records and service questions.
| City | Court | What It Handles |

Tallapoosa City Court Locations
Municipal warrant questions belong with the city that issued the citation or complaint. The official Tallassee site provides civic-building context for one of the county's verified municipal courts.

The city source helps distinguish a municipal record from a Circuit or District Court file held elsewhere in Tallapoosa County.
Checking a Municipal Court Warrant
Gather the legal name, date of birth, citation or case number, city, and court date. Use the city court first, because no countywide municipal-warrant search exists.
Alexander City's vendor page exposes a “Search By Citation Number” route. It can help identify a city traffic file, but it does not promise an active-warrant result. Dadeville's government portal has Pay Here and Voice Portal choices rather than warrant fields. Tallassee publishes payment and case-contact information but no online warrant search. A blank screen from any one channel cannot settle the status of a Tallapoosa County municipal warrant.
- Use Alexander City's citation lookup or Dadeville payment portal only for the narrow task each offers.
- Call Alexander City at (256) 329-6750, Dadeville at (256) 826-0560, or Tallassee at (334) 283-5425.
- Ask city police whether they hold service information; the sheriff uses (256) 825-4264.
- Visit only after confirming the correct counter, then seek counsel about bond, surrender, or recall.
Dadeville and Tallassee Warrant Records
Dadeville Municipal Court meets at 265 North Broadnax Street on the second Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Its portal offers Pay Here and Voice Portal functions, not warrant-search fields. Call before paying an FTA case.
Tallassee Municipal Court is at 3 Freeman Avenue. The magistrate, not the judge, handles existing-case questions at (334) 283-5425. Court is the first Friday at 8 a.m. Mandatory-appearance cases cannot be treated as simple online payments.
Inside a Municipal Court Warrant
Alabama's alias-warrant form supplies a general schema. Tallapoosa city courts publish no shared number format or status-code legend, so confirm each field with the issuing clerk.
Form C-65a also places the failure-to-appear basis, underlying case, judge or magistrate authorization, issue date, arrest command, bond condition when set, and service return in context. A city public portal may show only the citation and payment side. Ask the clerk whether a separate alias warrant exists, whether it has been served, and whether the judge entered a recall. Do not invent a number pattern from a citation or assume that a portal status matches the police record.
| Warrant / cause number | Use the exact court value; no common Tallapoosa format is published. |
|---|---|
| Charge | City ordinance, traffic, misdemeanor, or FTA basis. |
| Issuing court | The municipal judge or magistrate's city court. |
| Bond / fine | The current amount confirmed by the court. |
| Status | Active, served, or recalled as the court defines it. |
City Payment Is Not Recall
A receipt can show money was accepted without proving an arrest order was withdrawn. Ask the municipal clerk whether payment is allowed after FTA, whether an appearance or bond is required, and when a signed recall reaches police or the sheriff.
The official Dadeville city site provides local government context for the court in Tallapoosa County's seat.

The city hall source reinforces that Dadeville municipal files remain a city-court matter even when county offices are nearby.
How to Resolve a Municipal Warrant
Only the issuing court can state what resolves its order. Ask about payment, reset, appearance, recall motion, or bond. A clerk can give procedure but cannot give legal advice.
Alexander City says ordinary payment matters should be settled by 5 p.m. on the day before court, and that no added court-date notice is sent beyond the citation. Once an FTA exists, however, the city warns that arrest may be served at any time. Dadeville's online payment route does not state that payment recalls a warrant. Tallassee directs bond, continuance, probation, and driving-school questions to its magistrate or police. These local differences make a direct status check essential.
- Confirm the warrant and amount with the city court.
- Follow the ordered payment, appearance, surrender, or bond path.
- Address the underlying charge at the set hearing.
- Keep the recall order and confirm police and sheriff updates.
Warning: A payment screen does not prove recall. Obtain the court's status and ask when every serving agency will receive the update.
A municipal warrant may also involve an Alabama appearance bond. Rule 7.2 publishes recommended ranges, but those figures are not a Tallapoosa County invoice and do not show what a city judge ordered in one case. Ask the municipal clerk or magistrate whether cash bond, surety bond, personal recognizance, or a special hold applies. The county has not published a shared municipal bond portal, warrant counter, or recall packet. If counsel files a recall request, ask the city court for its local filing method and obtain the signed order after the judge acts.
Once a municipal order is recalled or served, confirm the update with every office that may hold it. The court docket, city police record, sheriff service record, and any ALEA-related traffic hold may update on different schedules. Keep the receipt, bond paper, disposition, and recall order. “Cleared” means the arrest order has been handled as the court directs; it does not mean the ordinance, traffic, or misdemeanor charge was dismissed.
